Job Description

Director of Leasing

Harden is currently looking for a Director of Leasing. The candidate will report to the Vice President, Leasing and will join a young and dynamic environment.

Head office: Vaudreuil

Position: Full time (40 hours per week)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Together with the VP of Leasing:
    • Oversee Harden’s complete portfolio consisting of existing and new developments;
    • Build and develop a highly effective commercial leasing team, coach and mentor the team to meet or exceed budget targets, and encourage growth within the organization;
    • Manage the leasing department’s objectives, rent rolls, and pro formas of all the centres;
    • Strategize and market for the best co-tenancy, while focusing on maximizing occupancy and income yield;
    • Negotiate new deals, renewals, and amendments;
    • Review and comment on relevant legal and lease documentation for the team;
    • Monitor the vacancy rate as well as each centre’s lease expiries, while being proactive ;
    • Monitor arrears in each centre and assist in collections when needed;
    • Manage tenant defaults, bankruptcy files, and other tenant issues;
    • Participate in the annual budgeting process and complete leasing assumptions for the complete portfolio;
  • Ensure proper communication of all leasing activities to the Development, Construction, Tenant Coordination, Lease administration, Marketing, Operations, and Finance team;
  • Report on leasing activities, tenant updates, and market conditions;
  • Assist in preparation of various reports, as assigned;
  • Prepare newsletters and other leasing initiatives with the Marketing department;
  • Establish strong relationships and maintain ongoing contact with brokers, tenants and prospective tenants;
  • Assist in the preparation of tradeshows;
  • Other related duties.


  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role;
  • A university degree – ideally related to business or real estate;
  • Master the French and English language, spoken and written ;
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft office suite;
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, strong financial acumen, a high level of business maturity and solid decision-making skills;
  • Strong leadership skills and emotional intelligence;
  • Demonstrate good communication, negotiation, management and problem solving skills, as well  as display autonomy, and initiative;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment;
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive;
  • Maintain confidence by keeping information confidential;
  • Must own personal vehicle and have a valid driver’s license as some travel will be required.
